The Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) employs 6200 people worldwide, with its largest location in San Jose California. Chromatography types include gas, liquid, ion, and high pressure technologies. In addition to delivering heightened technology performance, CMD is offering solutions to revolutionize the routine market and enhancing lab productivity.
This position can be based out of San Jose California or Austin TX.
How will you make an impact?
By leading and developing the Supplier Quality program for CMD, you will help us achieve product quality improvement goals ultimately leading to increased customer satisfaction and product margins. Focus areas will include sustaining activities such as 8D and SCAR management. As well, leading preventive quality programs will enable product launches to leap frog the quality and reliability of previous generations.
What will you do?
Establish Supplier Quality fundamentals such as supplier metrics & scorecards, supplier business reviews, and issue tracking and resolution enabling KPI leadership for the function.
Facilitate forums with appropriate technical expertise when RCCA is required on escalated division level issues. Drive teams and suppliers to appropriate corrective actions and problem resolution.
Develop and maintain successful relationship with suppliers, design and development teams, and sourcing teams to continually improve cross department collaboration.
Lead PPAP activities on new product development (NPDI) teams. Ensure adequate supplier control plans are defined and deliverables are executed, aiding in continual improvement of supplier quality.
Provide support for the implementation of supplier quality programs to business unit SQEs.
Ensure First Article Inspection requirements are defined and executed by appropriate personnel.
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university required, or equivalent experience with a 2 year degree
Minimum 7 years of experience in the quality profession required, which may include Quality Engineering, Process Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering with responsibilities pertaining to product quality and/or process improvement.
Leading teams through problem solving and establishing escalation forums.
Developing quality programs through organizational change.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
ISO 9001 knowledge required; ISO 13485 beneficial; auditing
Working knowledge on the standard suite of quality tools, such as 8Ds, SCARs, Gage R&R, Capability Studies, SPC, Production Part Approval Plans (PPAP) and Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (D/PFMEA).
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six-Sigma Black Belt (SSBB) preferred
Initiative and self-direction in planning, organizing, documenting and solving problems.
