About the opportunity:
The ThermoFisher Scientific Precision Medicine Science Center has been established to enable our cutting-edge technologies to accelerate coordinated, multi-discipline scientific activities and support global translational and precision medicine initiatives. The Senior Application Scientist will develop workflows to utilize next-generation sequencing technologies (proteomics, metabolomics, and genomics) and collaborate with external partners to apply these technologies using various marketing channels.
The Center is both a working laboratory and an education resource, open to researchers with an interest in sample preparation, reproducible workflows, and quantitative methodologies to support biomarker discovery. We love to support pioneering projects initiated to achieve precision medicine, and we aim to hire a business-critical Sr. Application Scientist to work in our lab as well as meet with customers and Key Opinion Leaders to achieve great results.
What will you do?
Develop innovative LC-MS workflow for analyzing human samples with dedicated team members.
Demonstrate expertise in use of LC-MS methods for data acquisition and analysis.
Document all experiments and results thoroughly with detailed observations
Critically assess experimental data and provide interpretation of results
Prepare technical reports, summaries and protocols
Cultivating positive customer relationships and acting as a high level customer interface for precision medicine workflow, explaining complex technology details, giving in depth technical presentations, and assisting in applications development.
How will you get there?
Masters Degree required (chemistry, biology, or related discipline) Ph.D. strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 year of hands-on experience operating LC/MS instrument required
Excellent oral and written communications
Demonstrated people skills and ability to work in matrix environment
Prior scientific publication record required
