Job Description

Position Objective

Seeking Intern candidates with basic knowledge in molecular biology and mammalian cell culture techniques for genome editing and cell engineering related projects

Essential Functions

Basic molecular biology, cell biology and mammalian cell culture techniques, including nucleic acid purification, transfection and gene expression analysis; be able to work independently in a fast paced product development setting under stringent timelines; collaborate with other scientists and effectively communicate results to diverse audiences. May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Education:

Enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in Molecular Biology or related Life Sciences discipline. To be eligible for an internship, students must be enrolled in accredited bachelors or advanced degree program and have at least 1 semester/quarter of classwork to complete after the internship (may also be starting an advanced degree program).

Experience/Requirements:

Position requires basic knowledge in molecular biology and cell biology. Previous hands on experience in working with RNA, recombinant DNA designing, nucleic acid purification, mammalian cell culture and cell analysis is a plus.

Working conditions:

Works in a laboratory environment. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties and lift up to 40 lbs. Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials.
