Job Title: Senior Marketing Performance Analyst - Carlsbad, CA

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Marketing Performance Analyst to set up the marketing measurement system of a major division. This is a leadership position with tremendous potential for growth. This person will develop a 21st century marketing measurement and analytics system based on the most modern data science and analytical techniques and tools. The systems and processes created will support business leaders and geographic regions make strategic decisions and enhance revenue. This person will lead the partnership with senior management to define strategy and provide insights. This is a very high profile role allowing an individual immense creativity and control over their destiny. This is an individual contributor position. However, as we expand this person will eventually lead a team.

What will you do?

  • A leader, self-starter and analytical thinker who will spearhead the definition of “metrics that matter” and package these metrics into dashboards and reports to measure performance of the marketing team.

  • Understand marketing performance drivers. Provide analytics consulting support to business and marketing leaders in development of marketing strategies and programs.

  • Leadership role in partnering with the businesses in defining and managing the tracking of performance across LSG.

  • Actively monitor, analyze and report on the health of marketing contribution to the pipeline, program ROI, customer acquisition and penetration, contact acquisition and activity.

  • Lead the planning and execution of large scale multi-functional/division analytics projects.

  • Lead the development and implementation of processes across functions and business units to monitor and manage performance. These will include monthly or quarterly performance reviews.

  • Drive strong sales and marketing alignment with initiatives and processes that support lead management, improved lead quality and enhanced information visibility.

  • Plan complex projects involving process and technology changes with a large set of stakeholders.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with a strong background in math.

  • 5+ years of hands on marketing analytics /BI experience. Experience supporting Marketing & Sales teams.

  • 3 years of leading major marketing analytics projects.

  • 1-3 years in Life Sciences or Healthcare.

  • Expertise with several leading analytics tools, PowerBI and Excel. Ability to learn other tools and evaluate tools for suitability of implementation.

  • Ability to evaluate leading SQL and NoSQL databases as a part of technology selection programs. Cognos experience preferred.

  • Ability to extract information from common SQL and NoSQL databases. SQL scripting capabilities.

  • Skilled at manipulating numbers. Analytics and/or data architecture skills.

  • Strong graphics and visualization. Ability to convey message simply and advise on best possible graphics visualizations.

  • Financial analysis capabilities.

  • Programming abilities in R &/or Python. Some Java script.
