How will you make an impact?

Join our growing R&D as an Organic Chemistry Scientist responsible for the synthesis and documentation of rare reagents to support R&D and production. Activities may involve product development, product transfer, and product improvement.

What will you do?

  • Synthesis of small molecules and drug conjugates for in vitro diagnostic medical device products, including drug derivatives, linker arms enzyme conjugates, and immunogens.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to write, edit, review and finalize technical documents such as MPIs and SOPs.

  • Coordinate with internal experts to organize and maintain documentation.

  • Interpret and properly document results of various experiments and present the data at group meetings.

  • Perform other responsibilities to support the needs of the department as assigned.

  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and good documentation practices (GDP) including lab notebook, SOP, MPI and other necessary documentation.

  • Comply with Design Controls, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) guidelines, which includes, for example, process validation.

  • Maintain a safe, pleasant and efficient working environment.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 year industry experience; advanced degree in Organic Chemistry is highly preferrred.

  • Requires knowledge of synthesis and purification of organic reagents, chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, documentation of results and procedures.

  • Must be able to analyze HPLC, LCMS and H1NMR data.

  • Experience in the use of HPLC, LCMS, automated purification systems.

  • Must be able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists who need to communicate and cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.

  • Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and a good team player with strong work ethic and a passion to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint, ChemDraw and Scifinder.

  • Must be able to independently prioritize own work assignments, and consistently demonstrate the ability to perform assigned tasks through rigorous data collection and applying analytical tests and instrumentation in the laboratory to meet timelines.

  • Must have expertise in the purification and characterization of organic compounds using applicable modern techniques.

  • Self-motivated, independent and a proactive driving force of efficient execution.

  • Capable of multi-tasking and changing priorities caused by time, markets, customers, budget or other constraints.

  • Experience working in a GMP environment with knowledge in writing Manufacturing Process Instructions and Standard Operation Procedures.

  • Experience as a synthetic organic chemist in an industrial laboratory is preferred.
