How will you make an impact?

The Senior Project Manager will manage complex operations systems, facilities and/or capital expenditure projects for a fast-paced In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) business. Projects will encompass all aspects of the operation and will include capital equipment installation/validation and will also encompass operations systems such as ERP improvements/other systems updates. Projects will be executed in accordance with company Design Control procedures and the Phase Gate approval process.

What will you do?

  • Develop project tasks, deliverables, dependencies and resource requirements.

  • Monitor project costs and working with Finance to ensure milestone payments are billed in accordance with development contracts and project costs are realized as Cost of Goods.

  • Create, maintain and organize necessary documentation and records; responsible for the quality of project deliverables and documentation.

  • Oversee and prepare project team budget including resources and costs collaborating with Finance and other cross-functional departments.

  • Act as a liaison to the Operations teams to ensure coordination of timelines, identifying critical milestones, risk mitigation, and communication of progress.

  • Identify, document and communicate project risks and contingency plans.

  • Track and communicate project status, plans, issues, timelines, action items, and budgets.

  • Communicate, document, and archive project team activities and decisions; act as a primary contact for project team related information.

  • Facilitate project team meetings, cross-functional communication and decision making, ensuring alignment with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Exercise scope management with consideration for the customer, team, and company needs.

  • Contribute significantly to the development and continuous improvement of the Program Management processes, related SOPs, and supporting materials while participating in corporate ‘best practices’ steering teams, etc.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field or equivalent.

  • 10 years industry experience including 7 years experience in progressively more responsible Project Management roles.

  • Previous experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly preferred.

  • Experience in managing complex operations and systems projects including all financial aspects of the projects from project approval, financial tracking and project closure.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, direct and manage cross-functional teams, influence business partners and get results through others with a high-level business acumen.

  • Experience with involvement for the selection, purchasing and installation of capital equipment for filling, packaging or labeling.

  • Advanced understanding and ability adhere to established quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements for medical device or diagnostics.

  • Excellent technical skills in manufacturing techniques, FDA and GMP compliance, especially Design Control.

  • Strong understanding of Operations challenges and methods for resolution.

  • Ability to resolve most day-to-day issues and develop mitigation plans.

  • Demonstrated skills using MS Project or related software for Project Management.

  • Solid skills using MS Office, Outlook, and the Internet.
