Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of global e-marketing specialists, build e-marketing global programs and sell MSD products.

  • Establishing the direction and goals for MSD’s e-marketing practice and strategy

  • Manage a staff of e-marketing specialists focused in development of email marketing campaigns, online promotions and tools, webinar curricula development, search engine program optimization and PPC, social media and online results measurement

  • Develop, deploy and track comprehensive online campaigns that meet agreed goals associated with each campaign

  • Advising marketing and BU leaders on best use of online tools to drive traffic to MSD products, and secure leads for MSD products

  • Plan the annual e-marketing budget and develop the annual plan reporting results at quarterly milestones

  • Manage and direct all online marketing activities including (but not limited to) the use of e-mail management programs and forms for those activities. Manage online multimedia and other capabilities required to illustrate MSD product differentiation and gain prospect commitment

  • Interface with the marketing, sales and IT functions for lead management linkages and infrastructure requirements associated with list segmentation and reporting.

  • Project and vendor management of data warehouse functionality, enhancements and integration with other business systems

  • Train and motivate personnel in the MSD e-marketing function

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Overseas and domestic travel <= 20%

  • Excellent project management skills, with strong technical understanding of web environment and use of online marketing

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability to manage globally distributed personnel

  • Demonstrated strategic planning capability

  • Proven ability to gain consensus, influence organizational behavior, lead decision making process in a matrix-managed organization

  • Proven ability to manage and motivate personnel

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • BS degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science

  • Masters degree a plus

  • 10 years experience in marketing, online marketing or web management

  • Prior experience in scientific industry and familiarity with target customer groups

  • 3 years Eloqua experience at administrative level

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus

  • Global experience an added benefit
