How will you make an impact?

This Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for the overall direction and management of the Facilities, Equipment and Engineering groups. The scope of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, maintenance and repair of all facility/production equipment, the design/fabrication/rebuild/installation of facility/production equipment, the use of TPM discipline for asset management and the support of continuous improvement. In addition, this position will also be responsible for maintenance and engineering support of other manufacturing and distribution facilities as needed.

What will you do?

· Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the physical plant (structure), grounds and related building systems for all facilities both owned and leased. Work with various vendors on capital improvement projects. This will include creation of design specifications, bid collection and final acceptance of project.

· Manage the preventative maintenance system for all manufacturing equipment and insure compliance with scheduled maintenance activities is accomplished at all facilities.

· Direct Associate Engineers in the completion of design, fabrication/rebuild and installation efforts for current equipment and new equipment used in the support or production of products.

· Develop SOP’s for new equipment to comply with QSR requirements and ISO9000:2000 standards.

· Maintain production and facility support equipment records in order to monitor equipment for premature failures, upgrades, retirement, and replacement.

· Develop engineering / construction standards specifying minimum requirements for future projects (room finishes, HVAC, air pressurization, etc.).

· Direct and support the equipment and facility supervisors in hiring and supervision of employees.

· Remain current with all policies and guidelines. Execute policies and rules fairly and consistently.

· Demonstrate a participative management style in problem solving; project implementation and continuous improvement objectives.

· Offer a service-oriented willingness to function as a technical resource to other departments.

· Create time lines and schedules to help the facilities and equipment supervisors bring projects on-line, on time and keep the Site Leader/Director of Operations informed on progress.

· Evaluate equipment needs of production departments when requested and recommend equipment purchases as required.

· Analyze all work activities of department and develop and modify Standard Operating Procedures as applicable. Ensure adequate training and development of all department employees.

· Provide support and assistance to employees in order to assure all tasks and projects may be completed to the best of their abilities and the needs of the company.

· Assist the other facilities in maintaining their equipment and facilities. Visit facilities as directed. Responsible for all facilities being maintained in safe and environmentally sound condition. Report any actual or potential safety hazards to management.

How will you get here?

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in EE, ME, IE or related field

Experience

· 4-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device industry

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

· Maintenance experience, specifically in capital projects and facility renovation

· Experienced in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project
