Making the world healthier, cleaner and safer by building and distributing product for the pharmaceutical industry on time with quality in a highly regulated environment. Candidates should have hands-on experience working in injection molding. The position will require competencies that include molding, tooling, quality inspection, mold design and leadership skills.
Manage, select, develop, mentor, coach, and lead the injection molding process technician team.
Direct compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and quality systems
Drive quality through participation in corrective actions, deviations, investigations troubleshooting, product development, training, and understanding of customer demand
Troubleshoot and adjust molding parameters to maintain quality and maximum product output.
Coordinate tooling and equipment availability, repair and maintenance
Coordinate with outside vendors regarding maintenance and repair for tooling and equipment.
Create Product and tooling drawings
Conduct ECO activities using M2M, Made to Manage
Conduct capacity and tool life studies and provide information to SLT, and customer
Manage new projects and builds, in conjunction with the LSG sourcing team.
Quote new/existing products
Support R&D and operations
Support internal Thermo Fisher sites on projects and provide input on product design/material selection
Coordinate and lead qualification activities for tooling and machines, including, IQ, OQ, DOE, PV, PQ, FAI, testing with quality and production teams.
Key skills include proficient in the set up and operations injection molding machines
Ability to interpret and use information from drawings, blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and equipment manuals; select mount and adjust molds, nozzles and other tooling and adapters for production set ups
Must be familiar with the characteristics of heat, pressure and expansion on resins, plastics and other similar raw materials
Degree in plastics or engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role
Ability to work under a flexible work schedule
Working knowledge of robotics and automation related to the injection molding process
Ability to coach and mentor with strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
