We are seeking an experienced EH&S Manager to support our Oakwood Village, OH plant in the Greater Cleveland area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement and coordinate safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational illness and injuries and financial losses.

  • Conduct & document near-miss and accident investigations to develop solutions that prevent or minimize reoccurrence.

  • Lead the site in the administration of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, CERCLA, DOT/IATA and other relevant safety and environmental standards.

  • Research, monitor, and interpret various Federal, State, and Local recognized rules, regulations, and procedures governing hazardous materials as they impact the company.

  • Spearhead all safety & environmental compliance programs related to air, water, waste and chemical handling.

  • Support and assist the Radiation Safety Officer and Chemical Safety Officer to ensure responsible oversight of site radiation and chemical safety programs.

  • Support and assist the Global Compliance Manager to ensure product safety and responsible oversight of the global distribution of potentially hazardous products that emit radiation and/or ship with lithium ion batteries.

  • Manage the company hazard communication program including maintaining the SDS sheets on chemicals used in the facility.

  • Establish and maintain SDS sheets for manufactured products.

  • Lead safety-related teams including the site Safety Committee, the Emergency Response Team, and the First Responder Team.

  • Develop and administer medical surveillance and biological monitoring in accordance with OSHA standards and corporate policy.

  • Maintain, report, and work to improve safety metrics that are both proactive (such as number of Hazard ID’s, or Closed Safety Items) and reactive (such as near-misses, accidents, and lost-time incident rates); report any trends and recommendations to management.

  • Coordinate EHS related response to customer, corporate, or regulatory agency audits and questionnaires.

  • Complete feasibility, preliminary scope and justification for CAPEX projects to meet current and future facility requirements.

  • Manage and rationalize site facilities and utilities contracts including budget review, vendor analysis, contract negotiation, and contract management.

  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills.

  • Must have strong project management skills.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in safety, environmental or a related field preferred.

  • 5+ years of safety related experience is generally required for this position. Some experience working with Facilities staff and/or management is preferred.
