Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, engage, empower and motivate personnel within the group to prioritize and deliver on site goals and objectives.

  • Manage engineering projects and activities assigned to site team members, from initiation to closure, through all stages of the business process. Be accountable for assigned project deliverables, including product quality and schedule integrity.

  • Develop and manage process engineering project portfolio to support new product introductions, site transfers, sustaining projects, and productivity projects. Projects may involve process design, equipment purchase & qualification, facilities design & build out, yield improvements, and material validations.

  • Proactively communicate project status, issues & risks to the project team and to various levels of site business unit and divisional management.

  • Establish clear ownership and execution of tasks within the team and a clear schedule for completion.

  • Work with operations to ensure seamless and successful achievement of daily production goals, process robustness, stability and optimization of equipment and resources.

  • Partner cross functionally to diagnose production issues, optimize equipment, tooling, and layouts to meet manufacturing, company, and customer needs.

  • Work collaboratively with peer engineering managers within the site and broader company to drive network initiatives, balance resource demands, and global team interaction.

  • Ensure team members have the tools needed, and provide timely feedback.

  • Provide guidance, direction and leadership for the areas of supervision to ensure that products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe, timely manner

  • Supports RUO and GMP activities

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Bio Engineering, or related discipline

  • 3 – 5 years supervisor or manager experience

  • Ability to lead people and to work effectively with cross functional teams

  • Proven ability to organize and consistently run a smooth cost-effective operation.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate processes, timelines and schedules clearly.

  • Highly motivated and a commitment to continuous improvement

  • Strong problem solving skills required.

  • Knowledgeable of GMP, ISO 9001, and 13485

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications

  • Ability to develop and coach employees

  • Experience working with manufacturing equipment

  • Knowledge & experience in statistical analysis and design of experiments

  • Demonstrated success with product commercialization process

Working conditions:

  • Works primarily in an office environment, but also requires time in laboratory/manufacturing environments
