Division Specific Information
The Transplant Diagnostics (TDX) business (also known as One Lambda) is the worldwide leader in HLA typing and antibody detection assays, and is known for its commitment to quality, service and innovation.
One Lambda develops and distributes several lines of HLA typing and antibody detection tests utilizing serological, molecular, ELISA, Flow and Luminex® XMAP® technologies. In addition, One Lambda also manufactures laboratory instrumentation and computer software that are used to simplify and automate testing procedures and final test evaluations. 500 committed employees are working together for achieving their goals, and the in-house life savers “Team Lambda” hold a record in the largest team taking part of Donate Life Run/Walk in 2017.
How will you make an impact?
Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to increase market share and generate revenue with our proprietary and leading edge molecular diagnostics products.
The person in this role may be based ideally in San Francisco, CA, or remotely anywhere in the United States. Travel will be frequent, with an average expectation of 50% both domestic and international. The international travel will be significant.
What will you do?
Meet and exceed sales targets by prospecting for new customers in HLA Typing Laboratories
Work closely with the HLA Marketing Team in providing market and customer intelligence for developing and executing the long-term strategic business plans
Work with the worldwide sales team, provide timely and accurate forecasts
Gather data on competitors and analyze market conditions
Effectively manage dotted line relationships worldwide, to includes One Lambda Technical Consultants and One Lambda Channel Partners
Attend trade and vendor shows and meetings as needed
Act as a Voice of the Customer for marketing activities
Maximize the business opportunities in each account, and convert customer problems into sales opportunities
Other duties as required
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree in Life Science or related field
MBA or other relevant advanced degree is valued
5 years of experience and proven background in Scientific Sales
Commercial diagnostics experience
Prior experience working in an HLA laboratory is beneficial
Experience and knowledge of molecular diagnostic assay technology
Hands-on experience in PCR, RT-PCR, or other molecular biology techniques
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong presentation, analytical and customer service skills complimented by a solutions-oriented track record
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to comprehend, utilize and communicate technical information
Detail oriented and independent with sense of urgency
