Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
Ensure accountability and drive the strategic plan & provide leadership to the Marketing group.
Responsible for the complete product lifecycle from new product development, existing product improvement, to planned obsolescence.
Identify and recommend new opportunities for increased sales through product enhancements and new products.
Working with the marketing team, complete feasibility and market analysis for introducing new products.
Lead marketing team to execute plans in phases of product life cycle management including product introduction, reintroduction, rationalization and phase-out.
Create product training tools, presentations and other collateral for sales and service.
Develop and implement any necessary market or competitive research to help staff determine appropriate strategic direction for the PI business.
Create global pricing structure and strategy to ensure pricing goals are met.
Ensure the marketing team implements appropriate and successful product strategies.
Advise and update senior leadership on current status as well as key changes in scope of projects.
Program Champion for New Product and major growth initiatives.
Based on customer input and research, pro-actively understand market conditions and translate them into product requirements resulting in improved customer satisfaction and increased value generation for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Develop annual product marketing plan to achieve growth and margin objectives consistent with the BU strategic plan.
Provide input to annual operating plan and long term strategic plan.
Work with manufacturing and R&D to define product line cost reduction or improvement programs to improve overall margin performance or increase market share by clearly defining product line quality, features, benefits, cost and service requirements.
Work with Marketing Communications to effectively message and position product line or product applications.
Bachelor's degree minimum or equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience managing a team of product managers.
Background in food safety and processing industry.
Ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment.
