Position Summary:

Product Management at Thermo Fisher Scientific interfaces directly with customers and industry thought leaders to understand the existing and future technology needs of the marketplace and adapt our product portfolio to match those needs. The Product Management Specialist will provide support for both new and existing products in the Antibodies and Immunoassays business of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The position will also be asked to support other product management activities, including market research, sales support, and implementation of product line strategies. The position will interact with Market Development, R&D, Sales, Operations teams and other stakeholders to meet revenue and profitability goals. The ideal candidate will be able to operate independently, exercising good judgment within generally defined practices and policies, and will combine a passion for science with an understanding of marketing and customer needs to thrive in a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product management team in managing the life cycle of products, including forecasting, market intelligence, product improvements, discontinuations, pricing, and margin analysis

  • Ensure the accuracy of product data and information across all platforms and systems

  • Troubleshoot product and system related issues, identify root causes, and drive implementation

  • Assist product management team with new product development, from concept through commercialization – may include participation in the voice of customer research, customer and product requirements definition, value proposition definition, product launch management and sales training development

  • Survey competitive landscape and work with Product Management team to develop and implement a course of action

  • Work within a team environment to select, support, and drive key product management projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable life science discipline – advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented analytical thinker, with a track record of driving to results

  • Able to build relationships, influence others, and work effectively with colleagues across multiple locations

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency

  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Expertise in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications:

  • Specific knowledge and hands-on experience with cell or protein biology techniques, products, technology, competitors, and customers (particularly for antibodies)

  • 2 years of related experience in Marketing (may include a background in product management, market research, business development, and/or sales)

  • Ability to travel up to 15%, both domestically and internationally
