Job Summary:

The Production Engineering Technician will execute protocols for the medical device product lines to ensure validations are executed and properly documented to maintain compliance. The technician will also be responsible for typical test technician duties such as assembling and testing electro and mechanical subassemblies to drawings, BOMs and work instructions to meet quality standards and production schedules as business need requires. The technician tests scientific instruments using computers to identify and debug mechanical and electrical problems.

What will you do?

  • Take a primary role and act as mentor to other technicians for the testing of medical device instruments within the San Jose factory.

  • Setup equipment and conditions to completely execute validation protocols and other tasks for scientific instrument manufacturing process.

  • Work closely with the validation engineer by providing documented results in accordance with good documentation practice to be added to reports and help finalize them.

  • Participate in validation-related quality system activities (CAPAs OFIs, SCARs) by verification testing, gathering data and supporting documentation.

  • Support continuous maintenance of the validation program, fixtures, and tools. Provide technical support in training and coaching test technicians.

  • Provide guidance and support to San Jose key suppliers on the application and implementation of requirements for validation.

  • Follow written procedures (SOP's) with attention to detail and a focus on quality.

  • Communicate information with other through spoken written forms.

How will you get here?

  • A two year degree from a technical or trade schools is required; a four year degree is preferred

  • Experience with redlining and executing validation protocol activities

  • Familiarity with cGMP and ISO 13485

  • Proficient with basic assembly tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, torque tools, etc

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Basic problem solving and organizational skills

  • Standing, sitting, walking, detailed assembly work with hands, computer work

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs up to 5 times per day

Preferred Skills

  • SAP experience

  • Proficiency with vacuum leak check equipment and Helium Leak Testing
