How will you make an impact?

Our Genetic Sciences business is at the forefront of innovation for genetic analysis research and clinical applications. The Associate Product Manager will provide leadership and execution for products in our Genetic Analysis miRNA business, with a focus on high growth applications. This person will develop and manage a portfolio of on-market products within the miRNA portfolio. She or he will be responsible for development of product strategy, product definition, positioning, and product lifecycle management. Our Product Managers act as mini General Managers for their portfolio by collaborating with all business functions to ensure their products meet and exceed our customers’ expectations.

What will you do?

  • Working collaboratively with other members of the product management, marketing and applications R&D team on projects that span different Genetic Analysis technologies (qPCR, microarray, NGS and others)

  • Managing worldwide supply, demand, revenue, margin and pricing for product portfolio; update and present forecasts regularly to management, finance, and manufacturing teams.

  • Analyzing market trends, customer requirements and competitive strategy, and identifying opportunities for increasing customer and business value through product positioning and differentiation.

  • Assisting with analysis to inform pricing recommendations for the product line

  • Providing up-to-date product content/information and supporting field and key customer inquiries in a proactive manner

  • Developing and presenting compelling training materials for sales teams, technical support and field application scientists

  • Work effectively across different geographies and time zones

Nature and Scope:

This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel and will require direct customer communication, public presentation, and a team-focused approach. Strong business and customer focus are essential. Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing product development and marketing plans, and a general knowledge of operating plans as well as industry practices for developing, promoting and selling similar products. The Associate Product Manager must exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results, and is able to synthesize a decisive path forward based on all available information. Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others and conduct presentations of technical information.

Up to 25% Travel (international and domestic) is required.

How will you get here?


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in science, marketing or business management.

  • 1 to 3 Years Product Management or Marketing experience required

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the life sciences in a management role

  • Experience with life science analytical platforms comprising instrument, software and consumables

  • Successful track record of achieving results through and in collaboration with others.

  • Proficient in understanding, analyzing and summarizing comprehensive and complex technical, financial, market and research information/data.

  • Excellent analytical, communications—both oral and written, and project management skills

  • Ability to engage with and be highly credible with executive leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or PhD in life sciences or MBA

  • Experience with qPCR and/or microarray products is preferred

  • Is customer-centric and keenly aware of markets, trends and competitors

  • Is authentic, transparent and leads by example, holding self and others accountable

  • Organized with strong project management skills

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency, contagious optimism and a “can do” attitude
