How Will You Make an Impact?

This is a key role on the Quality team impacting Product Quality and Customer Experience for the leading manufacturer of Ion Chromatography products worldwide. This global role will lead cross-functional projects to conduct failure analysis resulting in technical redesign of product, process or application. The success of this role is measured by significantly lowered warranty costs, improved product quality measures and higher customer satisfaction through an extraordinary quality experience with Ion Chromatography Systems. This position offers career growth into a QA/QE role for Design for Quality in time. The Product Quality Engineer reports to the QualityAssurance and Regulatory Affairs senior manager.

What will you do?

  • Conduct Failure analysis on warranty parts directly or working with ManufacturingEngineering, Product Support and Sustaining Engineering functions as appropriate

  • Design, conduct or lead subsequent projects to resolve root cause of failure analysis

  • Incorporate use of Quality Tools, such as: 8D Corrective Action, Error Proofing, FailureModes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design Validation and Process Validation testing (DVT/PVT), and Critical to Quality (CTQ) documentation

  • Manage cross functional project portfolio

  • Periodic progress reports with emphasis on metric improvements and problem resolution

  • Work closely with Division Product Quality to leverage data & information to prioritize and ead improvement projects

  • Deep dive data analysis as needed for specific RCA identification as appropriate.

  • Lead or participate in management reviews, quality reviews/reporting, failure analysis and complaint resolution activities as indicated

  • Ensure products and processes remain compliant to relevant regulations and standards including safety, EMC, chemical and environmental regulations under an ISO 9001:2015 QMS.

How will you get there?

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated experience conducting Failure Analysis with PPI or LEAN tools

  • 2+ years of experience managing a project portfolio or program management

  • Demonstrated use of PPI or LEAN Six Sigma

  • Demonstrated effectiveness at data driven presentations to influence actions on business impact

  • Demonstrated communication and influence skills

  • Demonstrated cross functional leadership and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated ability to use data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel Pivot Tables, DOMO or Minitab

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Familiarity with SAP, or ERP, queries very helpful.

  • 5 + years of experience in Quality Assurance/Engineering or Field Customer Experience desirable

  • Experience with product and/or process validation a plus

  • Able to travel occasionally (<10%) nationally and internationally

  • Familiarity with new product introduction processes desirable

  • DfX also desirable
