Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr Director, Total Transportation Management in Swedesboro, New Jersey
The Sr Director, Global Total Transportation Management (TTM), drives growth in the TTM service offering globally, building strategic customer relationships, developing a world-class logistics management team and supporting the commercial organization as a subject matter expert of service line. Other responsibilities include developing strong partnership with other parts of the Thermo Fisher Scientific organization to enable expansion of the Total Transportation Management offering beyond Fisher Clinical Services. Driving strategic investments in personnel and systems to effectively manage a growing logistics offering. Finally develop a global operating model that is scalable, quality focused, and patient centric.
Develops sales strategy and value proposition to expand customer base and develop new relationships within pharmaceutical supply chains.
Provides effective leadership to meet or exceed the financial goals of Fisher Clinical Services Total Transportation Management service line.
Develops Total Transportation Management service line budget and manage to those commitments.
Owns Total Transportation Management growth strategy and value proposition.
Oversees sourcing resources and create strategies to manage vendor base of transportation providers to deliver optimal performance balancing quality, service, and cost. Ensure organizational structures, processes and systems are scalable to support a global service line.
Works with the global FCS GM’s, Fisher BioServices, Priority Solutions International, Patheon and other Thermo Fisher Scientific units to collaborate on the over-all Transportation strategy and solutions that best meet the client’s needs.
Develops and executes sales strategies designed to support the attainment of revenue goals.
Reviews sales performance against plans and performance standards. Interprets results, communicates to subordinates and approves changes in direction of plans.
Directs monitors and effectively appraises the performance of all direct reports providing training and development activities where appropriate, and holds staff accountable for their ongoing performance to specified standards.
Model and foster excellent customer service (internal & external) in all functions and responsibilities.

Proven track record of success.
BS/BA degree in business or the sciences, advanced degree preferred.
15 years of experience within the life sciences logistics industry and 5 years progressive business management experience.
7+ years of management plus 5 years of customer facing experience.
Familiarity with clinical supply chain, third party logistics and sourcing.
Experience managing individuals directly or indirectly.
Experience in managing budgets and accountability for delivering financial targets required.
Able to travel at least 30-40% of the time, including internationally.
Communicate strategy and results to the unit's employees.
Concise writing and public speaking/presentation skills are desirable for reporting to the Executive Leadership Team.
Superior analytical and problem solving skills.
Proven ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making in a complex and fast moving environment.
Track record of developing and implementing strategies to drive service line growth.
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with risk taking.
