How will you make an impact?

The main focus of this role is to support all technical aspects of Supplier Quality Management including; evaluation of non-conforming materials, performing supplier audits and liaising with the Sourcing group to qualify new and evaluate current suppliers. The candidate will also participate in manufacturing process monitoring and product improvement projects.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and report meaningful supplier performance metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of the supplier quality process.

  • Work closely with the Purchasing Team to qualify new suppliers, analyze and improve supplier performance, implement corrective actions at supplier sites and perform periodic supplier assessments/audits

  • Partner with Operations and R&D to effectively architect component design changes when opportunities exist

  • Perform technical analysis and/or product validation as required

  • Support Incoming Inspection with Material Review Board resolution and tracking

  • Support the Quality Management Team in maintaining and improving the quality management system for ISO 9001:2015 compliance

  • Assist in the development of procedures and processes for compliance with ISO and other external requirements

  • Participate in PPI (Practical Process Improvement) efforts and projects in support of business metrics, driving improvement in the quality of our products and processes.

  • Travel to supplier sites is required – approximately 15-25% of time

  • Other related duties as assigned How will you get here? Education / Experience

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical or Optical Engineering required

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment and/or Supplier Quality Management

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings

  • Experienced Solidworks user

  • Electro Mechanical device assembly and Test Development Experience preferred

  • ISO auditor training and certification a plus

  • Detail oriented and has the ability to lead multiple projects with minimal supervision.
