Position Summary:

This finance leader will have direct exposure to the Laboratory Products Division (LPD) senior leadership team and six business units. This role will be responsible for partnering with the North America Commercial and Global IT teams in addition to owning global Selling and G&A budgets. In addition, this role will own global operations productivity as well as divisional working capital metrics. This position reports directly to the LPD Sr. Finance Manager. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly business reviews and presentation of results to senior leadership

  • Partner with Operations to drive consistent reporting of productivity metrics across the division for monthly/quarterly business reviews

  • Develop divisional working capital reporting and provide analysis to improve working capital efficiency

  • Partner with the IT Director and North American Commercial VP to provide impactful financial analytics and detailed analysis of monthly expense trends to improve reliability of forecasts

  • Partnering with sales operations to manage and provide sales commission analysis, especially to understand post-sales concessions impact on profitability

  • Prepare business cases for capital spending projects within IT

  • Analyze financial and business performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against strategic / business plan and budgets

  • Drive the Global IT and Commercial budgeting process through partnership with the EMEA and APAC regional finance teams

  • Ad hoc analysis and special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA in Accounting or Finance

  • 6+ years experience in an FP&A or Sr. Financial Analyst role

  • Excellent problem solving skills with attention to detail; ability to step back and analyze the overall business impact

  • Willingness to dig into details and analyze variances and trends

  • Excellent financial modeling skills

  • The successful candidate also has very good overall business skills; he/she does not limit the scope of responsibilities to FP&A, but helps to develop solutions to broad business issues. Experience in a global manufacturing organization is desired, as is experience in installation of financial systems and development of product cost methodologies

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

  • Superior quantitative and analytical capabilities with Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills; Strong financial systems capabilities (HFM, CMR, SAP)

  • Must be able to work well under pressure, handling multiple tasks in a complex environment with strong written, oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills, able to manage priorities and workflow

  • Ability to travel 10% of time
