The objective of the Sr. Director, IT - HR and Legal is to further transform and manage enterprise-wide HR and legal technology in support of our business partner’s strategy and roadmaps. The Sr. Director will provide oversight and leadership of all technology strategy, service delivery, operational effectiveness, continuous improvement and staff coaching / development. This position will help identify, build, change and implement efforts related to the current HR and Legal delivery model. The Sr. Director will partner with their Business Partners to provide efficient and effective services that support the ongoing needs of the global business. S/he will foster a team environment and a strong service culture that ensures delivery of timely and quality driven services to internal customers and meets customer service level agreements.
What will you do?
Maintain accountability for all Corporate HR and Legal applications/systems from planning/ implementation to operational support
Provide direction to internal technical teams regarding the design and development of systems, applications, reports and analyses to meet business needs and provide technical guidance and service as a point of escalation with internal partners, internal customers and vendors
Support the short and long-term IT strategy and service delivery models, including governance of the portfolio of technology projects
Standardization and Automation – in partnership with IT, create the technology footprint that will allow us to optimize the service delivery model
Recommend strategic investments in technology to automate manual activities, perform system upgrades, manage ongoing vendor relationships and use strategic outsourcing to complement internal technology or gaps in knowledge and expertise
Formalize and implement a standard operating model including service level agreements, project management methodologies, customer satisfaction surveys, and case management
Ensure the HR and Legal organization executes on its strategic projects, ensure service levels are met and/or exceeded and all operation metrics are trending in the right direction
Follow all establish controls by centralizing security, change control, and production migration for all accountable applications
Develop staff to take on leadership roles and introduce new ideas and concepts
Build team member capabilities through rigorous objective setting, clear roles and responsibilities, frequent feedback, and cultivation of an environment of accountability
Establish ongoing superior customer relationship with HR and Legal Business Partners by publishing metrics and conducting regular face-to-face satisfaction assessment meetings to periodically review operations, and soliciting feedback on the effectiveness of the IT Services team
How will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree required, with strong preference for major in Information Systems, computer Science or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
10+ years of HR, Technology, and/or Operations experience within a global, matrix organization
Prior significant role in an HR Technology and ideally has held an HR position within a large company
Experience working with ERP HR systems (e.g. Workday, SAP etc) as well as business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., COGNOS, OBIEE) and 3rd party applications/SAAS
Strong Workday experience is required
Lean and Six Sigma certification is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong communicator and collaborator across and up and down the matrix
Strong knowledge of, and experience with applications that support HR Systems: compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, talent management (e.g., performance management, succession planning), learning management, payroll, time & attendance, interfaces and management reporting
Expert Excel skills with strong proficiency in MS Office applications – Word, Access and PowerPoint
